• JOSELITO VILLASIS/PN - A local actor takes on the role of the crucified Christ in Guimaras’ “Pagtaltal sa Balaan Bukid” – a reenactment of the passion and death of Jesus. This Good Friday, the annual presentation is expected to again attract thousands of pilgrims and tourists.


    JOSELITO VILLASIS/PN - Here’s one good news. Operators of motorboats plying the Iloilo-Guimaras route say they are not increasing their P15 fare rate this Holy Thursday and Good Friday. However, boats that directly take passengers to the foot of Balaan Bukid will charge P20. That’s because the boats will not have passengers when they return to the wharf in Iloilo City.

Halo-halo, a popular summer dessert, is a mixture of shaved ice, evaporated milk, boiled sweet beans, jello and fruits, among others. Some top it off with a scoop of ice cream.

  • JOSELITO VILLASIS/PN - Who keeps Iloilo City’s streets clean? This street sweeper does, and many more of her colleagues. Very early in the morning before the streets get congested with vehicles, they start their work. This street sweeper is assigned on Muelle Loney Street. The city hall pay is not that much but at least they are employed, she says.
