The demonstration is part of the Iloilo Provincial Cooperative Month celebration. Local weavers have formed cooperatives to ensure the survival and business viability of this ancient weaving tradition.

The city government plans to move the Freedom Grandstand from its present location on JM Basa Street to beside the Iloilo Post Office so it faces the Iloilo River and the new Iloilo-Bacolod ferry terminal. Where the Freedom Grandstand stands now, Sunburst Park previously stood. The city plans to restore the park.

Mabilog has defended the P800,000 budget allotted for the procurement of a multicab for the city police.

    FREDA MAE SORSANO/PN - UAAP Season 77 Most Valuable Player Kiefer Isaac Ravena of the Ateneo Blue Eagles receives an Excellence in Sports Award, a symbolic Lin-ay of Iloilo statue and P10,000 cash from Iloilo City mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog. Ravena was born on Oct. 27, 1993 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City but was raised in Manila. His father, Bong, is an Ilonggo. Ravena’s achievement in sports is an inspiration to young Ilonggo sports enthusiasts, the plaque citation read.
