JOSELITO VILLASIS/PN - The Iloilo provincial capitol glows with Christmas lights. Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. officially switched on the lights on Dec. 15, 2014, a day before the start of the traditional nine-day dawn Masses leading to Christmas day.

JOSELITO VILLASIS/PN - Firefighters battle this fire that hit Barangay M.H. del Pillar, Jaro, Iloilo City on Dec. 14, 2014. The fire completely burned five houses and partially leveled one. No one was hurt or got killed in the blaze.
ARCHIE REY ALIPALO/PN - This street child risk being hit by vehicles just so he could beg for alms at the intersection of Lizares and Araneta streets in Bacolod City. Street children continue to dot the city thoroughfares even with an anti-mendicancy ordinance.
