Jose Maria Arroyo to mark the establishment of the Metro Iloilo Water Works, forerunner of the Metro Iloilo Water District. Strategically located in front of the old provincial capitol, the fountain also serves as a point of reference for Panay Island, the so-called Kilometer 0.

Among the popular street food are barbecued pork and chicken innards, bananas and camote. But the Department of Health urges the public to be cautious when consuming street food. The preparation and handling of street food might not be hygienic. While keeping food clean is ultimately the vendors’ responsibility, the public must exercise food safety habits to avoid and prevent contracting illnesses due to contaminated food.
