GUIJO DUEÑAS/PN - The local government of Pototan, Iloilo wants to make its annual Iwag Festival (Festival of Lights) at the public plaza trash-free. The sign urges visitors not to litter and throw their thrash in the garbage bin. Every December, the festival attracts thousands of people.

GUIJO DUEÑAS/PN - This “Belen” attracts shoppers’ attention at a mall in downtown Iloilo City. In Spanish, the name for Bethlehem is Belen. Bethlehem is said to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ. A “Belen” is a three-dimensional art depiction of the nativity scene of the Child Jesus. It could be a crèche (a “crib” or “manger” in French) or tableau that represents the infant Jesus in the manger surrounded by Joseph, Mary, the shepherds and their flock, and the Three Wise Men.
