  • SM City Iloilo hosts Iloilo Bike Festival events

    Events for the Iloilo Bike Festival are slated at SM City Iloilo in support of the campaign for a healthy lifestyle and the thriving biking community in Iloilo. An exhibit will be set up at the Event Center from April 27 to 30, 2015 and will feature 30 different bikes in five different categories. A photo exhibit by Erna Forster will be one of the highlights. An opening ceremony will be held on April 27 and the awarding of participants will be on April 30 at the venue. Photo above shows last year’s successful bike exhibit at the Event Center. According to Ronald Sebastian, Iloilo Bike Festival president, “this will be the biggest bike festival exhibit in the region and will feature unique bikes.”

  • JOSELITO VILLASIS/PN - Participants of the dragon boat race at the Iloilo River try to outpace one another. The April 18, 2015 race had three categories – men, women and mixed. The annual race aims to highlight the economic importance of the Iloilo River and drum up public support to the government’s efforts to preserve and rehabilitate this body of water.

  • JOSELITO VILLASIS/PN - A job hunter checks out the listing of job vacancies posted outside the Public Employment Service Office at the Iloilo City Hall. This May 1, Labor Day, the Department of Labor and Employment Region 6 is staging job fairs. Some 40,000 job vacancies will be up for grabs.
