    RUVIC GENOVA/PN - In Iloilo City’s Jaro Plaza, the sidewalks are gone. They have been invaded by vendors selling all kinds of stuff. The people have no choice but use the street instead even if it’s very dangerous.

  • GUIJO DUEÑAS/PN - A vendor at the Iloilo Terminal Market prepares his jackfruits. These are fresh and straight from the farm, he says. Researchers say jackfruit could be a replacement for wheat, corn and other staple crops under threat from climate change. It is easy to grow. It survives pests and diseases and high temperatures. It is drought-resistant.

The device encodes all information on the identity of jail visitors.
