    JOSELITO VILLASIS/PN - This is what’s left of the house that fire struck in Barangay Arguelles, Jaro, Iloilo City on Feb. 28, 2015, a day before the start of the Fire Prevention Month of March. This house, two others, an apartment and three cottages were razed. The damage reached P10 million, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.

All residents of Buenavista, Guimaras, Ronald Salvacion, Reymar Davasol, Nacer Balila, Niel Zerrudo, and Romnick Navarro yielded a tub full of dynamited fishes, air compressor and two pieces of diving glass when arrested in Carles, Iloilo recently.

  • JOSELITO VILLASIS/PN - Firemen battle a grassfire at a vacant lot in Barangay San Jose, Molo, Iloilo City. Grassfires spread rapidly but with the firefighters’ quick response, it was effectively put out. We’re expecting more grassfires this summer season. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, fire occurrences usually peak during the summer period from March to May, the country’s hottest time of the year.
